Unit’s description and purpose

The Communications and Brand unit positions Fairtrade as a trusted and inspiring global brand by protecting its reputation, raising its visibility, increasing consistency across markets, and persuading audiences to choose our label. 

PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design communications material including infographics, social media assets, short publications and others. Brief designers and printers when outsourced.
  • Create or edit multimedia material, including video
  • Assist with written assignments and story development
  • Support local offices and team in finding visual material
  • Support social media management, posting and content development
  • Actively contribute to improve Fairtrade's digital asset management system
  • Support planning of annual global marketing communications meeting
  • General communications support
  • Undertake other tasks as necessary, consistent with the level and responsibilities of this post.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

Level of education: The position holder will have a bachelor’s degree in communications, multimedia, graphic design, journalism or another relevant field. 
 
Years of professional experience: A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant area of work.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This is a full-time position within Fairtrade International
  • Location is at Fairtrade International offices in Bonn, Germany with the opportunity for hybrid work arrangements
  • The office language is English
  • Salary as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Wholesale and Foreign Trade Industries for North Rhine Westphalia Group V and over tariff payments, starting from 3,814 Euros gross per month
